Affordable Housing?
Tue, 27 Jan, 2009

Australia represents 40% of the "severely unaffordable housing markets" in the 5th Annual Demographia International Housing Affordability Survey.
The study compared median house prices with median household incomes in Australia, Canada, Republic of Ireland, New Zealand, United Kingdom and the United States during the 3rd quarter 2008.
Australia's Sunshine Coast (in Queensland) comes in as the least affordable. The Gold Coast rates 3rd and Sydney 5th.
Demographia says affordability in Australia is worsening relative to Britain, Ireland and New Zealand, where prices have recently collapsed.
